I have this quote written down in my red moleskin journal, and I can't for the life of me remember where I found it. Regardless, this quote really spoke to me. If you don't know me that well, I graduated from college with a BA in Youth Ministry. I wanted to be, and was for a time, a Youth Pastor. That's where my heart and passion was, and there is still love for that path in my heart.
When life, and circumstances, made that path impossible to traverse, I had to look elsewhere for employment as well as redefine my career objectives. While working a normal job, I found a new passion for technology, gadgets, and social media. Little by little I began to teach myself everything I could about these areas. I eventually got a job in a local marketing company running social media for their clients, and learned more than I could have asked for in the year I was there. And now I'm working at my current job, and expanding into videography, podcasting, and always looking for a new skill to throw in the toolbox.
The fact is, if I can do this, you can too!
I had to re-boot my life (and that's a long story), and that self-education truly built a future for me. I'm not sure if it's because of my personality (Strength Finders gave me Input as my #1 attribute) or the words from a professor at college that stuck with me every day. So I'll end with his words here:
